This story is so true Trevy . Not sure if anyone will want all the things in our home but they are special to us and bring joy every day . Many from 100 years ago from antique shops. No special meaning except the joy of its beauty and energy it brings ❤️

So true. I keep trying to give Emma some fine jewelry that I've had for many years. She doesn't want it, it's not her style. She's too young to understand that I want her to have it, so when she looks at it, after I'm gone, she'll think of YiaYia. Has nothing to do with purpose.

That is so sweet. Maybe you could keep a box for her with her name on it and a note inside. It takes a while before we understand the value of things but when she's a little older, she will treasure it and all the memories you're making together!

I love these vignettes, Trevy. They are so beautifully written and personal. Thank you for sharing it. And wow that table. When my husband and I moved into our first home together, we said, "no thing unloved here."

It's precious that you have these objects left behind by people you love. When my son died, we were left with nothing, because we adopted him from overseas, and he died before we were able to bring him home. The people who had guardianship over him didn't care enough and never bothered to send us anything, even though we offered to pay for any expenses. It still feels like a great loss to me, so this piece resonated with me deeply.

Thanks so much, Tiffany❣️ How cruel that they wouldn't send you something to keep from your baby. And what a difficult journey that must have been. So sorry. It's good to have you here!

My grandpa passed away last year, and though we really weren't close, we had memories together. When my family started going through his belongings after, I found all these matches that he collected from different places. Immediately, I knew that I wanted them and though I don't know exactly what I want to do with them, it's that energy you were talking about. Just needed to keep them. Lovely post, thank you.

I have a few matches from special places. When I see them now or touch them, that place and memory come right back. It's good that you were the one to find the matches. Maybe they will always help you remember the connection you had with him. Thanks for sharing it❤️
